The Service
We are pleased to be offering an excellent 20th Century hallmarked silver 12 place settings canteen in Hanoverian Rattail Pattern. The service provides for eight pieces for each of the 12 place settings.
All the spoons and forks were hand wrought in London by C W Fletcher in 1944. The forks have three prongs in the style of the early/mid 18th century and the spoons have the diagnostic rattail to the reverse of the bowl.
The complementing Hanoverian Pattern knives are new with hallmarked silver handles and stainless steel blades.
Each piece is in fantastic condition and benefits from having no personalised engravings.
Hanoverian Rattail Pattern
Hanoverian Rattail was first in fashion between 1710 and 1730 and has been reproduced since the 1880’s. It was the first flatware pattern in the UK to be used for complete canteens. Due to its elegant lines and proportions it has continued to enjoy great popularity and is probably the most sought after traditional pattern. The front of each piece has a distinctive central ridge, whilst the spoons have the trademark rattail extension to the handle on the reverse side of the bowl.

Presentation
This canteen is offered loose. We can supply anti-tarnish cutlery rolls on request. These navy blue rolls have individual pockets to hold 12 items per roll and are available for £15 each.
As with all the canteens available from our web-site, we are happy to send a sample place setting for approval, on receipt of a fully refundable surety payment, prior to purchasing this canteen.
