York Sugar Tongs, 1815 JB/WW

These are a scarce and good quality pair of fiddle pattern sugar tongs bearing the JB/WW mark of the York makers Barber & Whitwell. The tongs are marked with the duty mark and diagnostic flat based lion passant punch of the York assay office - the maker's mark confirms the York origin. These tongs are in excellent original condition.
