Spoon - Trefid with Beaded Rattail - London 1693 by SH - 19.1cm long; 50g - TR/6673

This is a great example of a William & Mary period silver trefid spoon with a great set of London hallmarks.

This trefid table spoon is in fine condition with an unworn bowl and good antique patina, however the beaded rattail to the reverse of the bowl is tired from table contact and the front terminal is engraved with mid-18th century "IC" initials. The hallmarks are very good but the maker's mark is a little rubbed and can only just be read as "SH" for an unknown London silversmith.

Considering the 330-year age of this spoon, the minor issues described above are fairly inconsequential but have been accounted for in the very competitive price. Overall this is a very good 17th century spoon!
