Spoon - Trefid - West Country circa 1670 - 19.7cm long; 38g - FL/5316</p>

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

The dot-pricked “NP/RF/1670” engraving to the reverse terminal provides an accurate dating for this attractive Charles II period West Country silver trefid spoon. The spoon features an original leaf motif engraved to the front terminal and with its good-sized, deep bowl this is a handsome piece.

Struck once to bowl with a fleur-de-lys (?) within a pelleted circle and twice to the reverse stem with the same mark, plus a leaf within a punch, the spoon has a clear set of marks but as yet we have been unable to attribute them. The spoon is in generally excellent condition with a slightly sharp bowl tip (no loss of shape) and one or two very minor dings. An interesting spoon worthy of further research.
