Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a rare example of a silver egg coddler with all original parts still in place. Most metal coddlers are in silver plate with a plain and simple design, however this example is in hallmarked silver, has fabulous embossed decoration and has the rare feature of a hinged carry handle. To the inside is a holder for 4 boiled eggs to keep them warm in hot water whilst at the table, there is a burner that sits underneath to maintain the temperature. Every piece of this wonderful piece is appropriately hallmarked - that is the main body, cover, swing handle, egg holder and burner.
