Pin Cushion Table Clamp - London 1931 by Sebastian Garrard - 14cm extending to 17.5cm long; 207g - VM/2732

This is a rare object made by Garrrards - a silver sewing aid combining a table clamp with a pin cushion!

Almost certainly commissioned by or for a keen seamstress, this unusual object has a long silver screw thread that can clamp the piece to a table. The pin cushion sits on top, whilst there is a sprung clip to hold the piece being sewn or embroidered. It is a large and heavy piece of silver that bears clear hallmarks for Sebastian Garrard, the prestigious London luxury retailer.
