Caddy Spoon - Trifurcated; bright-cut engraved - London c.1775 by William Brockwell - 77mm long - EF/3025

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

A superb early period caddy spoon with the unusual feature of a trifurcated stem (splits in three). This caddy spoon has a beautiful bright-cut engraved design with original engraved crest to the front terminal. The waisted shape of the deep bowl is a trademark feature of William Brockwell caddy spoons and we have noted several other spoons by him with a trifurcated stem - however this example is probably the finest we have seen. It is marked in the pre-1780 fashion for silver caddy spoons with just a lion passant and "WB" maker's mark. A great spoon in fine original condition.
