Caddy Spoon - Tea Carrier - Birmingham 1807 by William Wordell - 58mm long - CC/3229

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This very rare caddy spoon has a round die-stamped bowl depicting an embossed Chinaman with kati. It was made in Birmingham 1807 by, as Norie describes him, "the mysterious “W”". A full set of hallmarks are found to the wire loop handle and it is in excellent condition.

This form of caddy spoon rarely appears on the market. An unmarked example appears in “Caddy Spoons: An Illustrated Guide” by John Norie as plate 61c and was sold in the second Norie Sale as lot 238.
