Susanna Barker Silver White Wine Label, c.1780

Beautiful silver wine labels were the trademark of Susanna Barker and this WHITE WINE example is no exception.

This Georgian bottle label features a bright-cut engraved banner with adornments to top and base and hangs from its original chain. The laurel wreathed cartouche is engraved with an original lion's head crest and the condition of the whole piece is superb. The reverse side is clearly stamped with the SB mark of this premier lady silversmith and helps date the piece to circa 1780.
