Silver Pap Boat, Plymouth 1753 Richard Freeman
Sold
Pap Boat - Exeter 1753 by Joseph Freeman - 11.8cm long; 2.8cm high; 50g - CP/5438
This is a rare example of a West Country silver pap boat with clear Exeter hallmarks for the Plymouth based silversmith Richard Freeman.
Pap boats were used for feeding infants and were generally made in London; Exeter example are very scarce, Plymouth examples almost unheard of!. This is a great example in the typical form of the mid 18th century. It is in fine condition with good hallmarks.
