Silver Honey Spoon with Hook, 1933 Omar Ramsden

Silver honey spoons with a hook are very practicable items and this example is a work of art as well!

Unsurprisingly, the spoon was made by the great Omar Ramsden and has been hand-wrought with three overlapping strips of silver forming a twist effect handle; the hook to the reverse of the stem giving it additional strength. The bowl retains a planished finish and is in excellent condition with clear London hallmarks.

The hook on the back of a honey spoon allows the spoon to hang from the rim of the jar after use and drip its contents back into the pot.
