Marrow scoop/strainer spoon - Double ended scoop and strainer - London 1749 by Ebenezer Coker - 213mm long; 61grams - Ref. No.: BU/1304

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is an outstanding piece      of extremely rare silver. We have never previously encountered the      combination of marrow scoop and straining spoon and this is an entirely      original and authentic piece. The scoop end is of typical form and the      bowl end is a generous size, round in shape and with a concentric pattern      of drilled holes. The purpose of the bowl is unknown but we would suggest      that the original owner enjoyed a thin sauce or strained vegetables with      his/her marrowfat! The quality is of the very high standard one would      expect from Ebenezer Coker and the condition is fabulous with a patina to      match. A clear set of hallmarks and the discreet engraved betrothal triangle to the heel of the bowl give this superb spoon everything you      could ask for.

A fabulous one-off piece of Georgian flatware.
