Teaspoon - 'PLENTY' Picture-back - London circa 1775 by Philip Roker - 10.9cm long; 9.5g - MF/1545
A rare picture back silver teaspoon that was presumably produced to celebrate a year of good harvest. The picture on the spoon depicts a healthily sized wheat sheath surmounted by the word "PLENTY". This Georgian Old English pattern spoon is appropriately bottom-marked for pre-1781 teaspoons with lion passant and a clear "PR" makers mark. It remains in excellent condition with a crisp picture and good bowl.
