Basting Spoons (pair) - Fiddle, Thread & Shell - London 1811 by Paul Storr - 30.5cm long; 432g - UO/4974
These are a superb pair of very heavy silver basting spoons made by the greatest English silversmith of the 19th Century. As one would expect, these Regency period spoons are in one of the premier flatware patterns - fiddle, thread & shell. The decoration is crisp throughout and the spoons benefit from having no personalised engravings. The hallmarks to the reverse sides are part worn, but the PS mark is legible in both cases. The bowls have their original thick tips due to the heavy gauge used during manufacture. A fabulous pair of spoons!
