Tea Caddies (pair) - London 1760 by Lewis Herne & Francis Butty - Approx. 16.5cm high; 6.8cm diameter base; 593g combined weight - HY/5769

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are a very handsome pair of silver tea caddies by the scarcely encountered mid-18th century silversmiths, Lewis Herne and Francis Butty. The caddies are cleverly double-fluted with the bat-wing fluting repeated to the pull-off covers. Each caddy possesses a double engraved crest featuring a lion rampant and a lion passant. The undersides are punched with a full set of hallmarks and the covers with appropriate part marks. A fabulous pair of Georgian silver tea caddies in fine condition.
