Old English Basting Spoon, 1781

Sold
Basting Spoon - Old English pattern - London 1781 by Richard Crossley - 30.7cm long; 124g - OA/9050
This is a fabulous quality long silver basting spoon in superb original condition with the bonus of retaining its original thick bowl tip. It was made by one of the most important specialist spoon makers of the late 18th century and benefits from having clear hallmarks. It is a little longer than typical basting (aka stuffing or gravy) spoons of the period and a further bonus is the lack of any personalised engraving to the stem.
