A fine example of a mid-18th century silver nutmeg grater. This barrel shaped spice box has a removable steel rasp to enable retrieval of the grated spice from the lower compartment. The cover is threaded to the base and both sections bear clear examples of the "DF" script mark of David Field - a specialist in making nutmeg graters. Excellent condition throughout.
