Corkscrew - Barrel-shape; Mother-of-Pearl - Birmingham c.1800 by Joseph Hart - 8cm long; 5cm wide - BV/5056
An excellent Georgian silver travelling corkscrew with mother of pearl barrel-shaped handle. This corkscrew is a beauty with the silver hoops around the mother-of-pearl handle giving it fabulous appeal. The steel worm is held by a silver collar and can be threaded in to the silver sheath when not in use. This antique corkscrew is in excellent original condition with no negative issues to the pearl and the silver in fine condition throughout. The sheath is marked to the flat end with "IH" - probably for the early 19thC Birmingham silversmith Joseph Hart.
