King's Pattern Silver Sugar Sifter Spoon, 1823
£125.00
Sugar Sifter Spoon - King's pattern - London 1823 by George Turner - 17cm long; 66g - TG/2239
This is a fine quality George IV period silver sugar sifter spoon in King’s pattern.
George Turner, the maker of this spoon is a scarcely encountered silversmith who was working on his own account in London during 1823-24. The spoon has a deep, finely pierced bowl that is ideal for scattering sugar over fruit, dessert and cereals.
Even in its 200th anniversary year, this antique sifter spoon remains in excellent condition with crisp decoration, no personalised engravings (nor erasures) and a clear set of hallmarks.
