The Service
We are offering for sale a huge silver 24 place settings canteen in Kings Pattern. This is an “all singing all dancing” service that will provide for all your dining needs!
It is a superb service in mint condition with 24 place settings for all the standard nine pieces used for formal dining and plenty of extra items with specific purposes and an extensive selection of 29 serving items.
This is a straight service which means every piece was made by the same maker at the end of the 1970’s. The spoons are stamped with display hallmarks to the back of the bowls.They also benefit from being free of personalised engravings and have crisp double-struck King’s pattern decoration.
King's Pattern
King's Pattern is the most well-known and popular decorative patterns. It was based on an 18th century French design and became fashionable amongst the wealthy in the early years of the 19th Century. The design encompasses a shell to both sides of the handle terminal and reverse of the bowl, scrolls down the handle shaft with a honeysuckle motif to the centre. The double-struck nature of the pattern (i.e. pattern on both sides) ensures that a good gauge of silver was used in manufacture .

Presentation
This canteen is presented in 23 new navy blue anti-tarnish cutlery rolls. Each roll holds 12 pieces. The 11 largest serving pieces are supplied in 4 matching blue anti-tarnish storage bags.
