Salt Spoon - Hanoverian Thread and Drop pattern - London 1864 by Hunt & Roskell - 11.6cm long; 26g - AG/4346

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

We are offering for sale a Victorian silver salt spoon in Hanoverian Thread Drop & Scroll with Rat-tail pattern. This is a very rare pattern similar to the famous Lamerie Thread & Drop pattern. The salt spoon just exudes high quality with a gilt bowl and a strong rattail to the reverse of the blade. The reverse side of the terminal bears an excellent engraved crest and the decoration is crisp throughout.

The makers of this butter spreader were Hunt & Roskell. These were the continuation of the company first founded by the famous Paul Storr. They held a "by appointment" Royal warrant and proudly displayed the crown symbol as a surmount to their "ISH" makers mark. This rare Victorian salt spoon is in fabulous original condition and was made by important silversmiths.
