Sorry, this item is out of stock.

We are pleased to offer this stunning late Victorian scent bottle with 9 carat gold mounts and hinged cover. The horn-shaped clear glass is fluted and this decoration is repeated in the spiral hinged cover. This perfume flacon is contained within its original plush case with the name of the retailer printed within the lid - Howell & James Ltd. The original stopper is present and the piece is in fabulous condition.

Howell James & Company were a London firm of jewellers and silversmith, which operated between 1819 and 1911. The Regent St address is given within the lid together with the proud statement that they were "Goldsmiths & Jewellers to the Queen & Prince & Princess of Wales". The latter became King Edward VII and Queen Alexandria.
