Caddy Spoon - 'Glis Glis' - London 1986 by Brian Fuller - 6.8cm long; 30g - RS/5948

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Brian Leslie Fuller was formerly the manager of Gerald Benney's silversmithing workshop before setting up his own retail shop in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. The edible dormouse (or glis glis) is not native to the UK, but appears as a self-sustaining population in the area around Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire following escapee introductions during the early 20th century. Brian Fuller adopted the bushy tailed animal as his emblem and this caddy spoon shows it to full effect. The glis glis is cast and acts as the handle, whilst the bushy tail forms an alternative take on the rattail found to the reverse side of other spoon bowls. The spoon is in excellent condition with clear hallmarks.
