Sold
Wine Label - Gilt Escutcheon; Xerez - London 1837 by Samuel Whitford - 5.6cm wide - TD/4202</p>
This fine quality gilt wine label bears the scarce name of "Xerez" - a mix of the two Spanish words for Sherry, Xeres and Jerez! Below the name is an original engraved lion rampant crest whilst above it is a ducal coronet suggesting an aristocratic provenance. This is a good quality escutcheon label in fine condition.
This is one of three identical form labels with differing scarce names currently being offered.
