A very handsome late 18th century silver-gilt vinaigrette. This octagonal vinaigrette has a beautiful engraved oval design around an octagonal cartouche with the script initials of the original owner. The underside has a similarly attractive design. The interior has a simple drilled design as one would expect with such an early example. The base is fully hallmarked and the cover appropriately part marked for a rarely encountered maker. This is a great looking box.
