Straining Spoon - Old English pattern with bright-cut engraving - London 1791 by Richard Crossley - 300mm long; 133g - Ref. No.: LO/2759

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a scarce example of a London made bright-cut engraved straining spoon. Most London examples are plain in form and bright-cut examples are Irish in origin, so this is an exception to the usual rules. It is also a fabulous example. It has very crisp engraving along the front of the stem with a letter "B" to the terminal. The bowl has a straining section for separating liquids from solids. This large serving spoon is in excellent original condition. The makers' mark is part worn but is certainly that of the specialist spoonmaker - Richard Crossley.
