This coconut cup is simply exquisite. The expertise with which the coconut has been decorated and mounted in finely detailed cast silver is amazing.
The bowl stands on a silver pedestal foot, has two reeded handles and the interior silver lining is gilt (gold-wash). The swags of flowers to the exterior are a real pleasure to behold and all the applied pieces appear to be appropriately hallmarked for one of the premier silversmiths of the 19th century - George Fox. This cup is in excellent condition throughout. Rarely have we seen a coconut cup of this high quality and beauty.
