Georgian Caddy Spoon, 1828

Caddy Spoon - Fiddle Variant with Fluted Bowl - London 1828 by Edward Edwards - 9.3cm long; 25g - MV/4151
This is a particularly fine quality silver caddy spoon with a good solid weight in the hand. Dating from the latter end of George IV's reign, the spoon has the standard fiddle shape to the end of the handle, but unusually shaped shoulders close to the bowl. The bowl is both fluted and gilt and the spoon just exudes high quality. Made by a scarcely encountered maker of caddy spoons, this example is in fine condition throughout.
