Footed Salver -: Trumpet-shaped foot - Exeter 1717 by Andrew Worth (of Modbury & Plymouth Dock) - 230mm diameter, 53 mm high; 370 grams weight - Ref. No.: MM/8060

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This English provincial tazza has      everything going for it - great rarity, early date, clear Britannia      Standard hallmarks, part marked foot to prove authenticity, top quality,      excellent condition with original patina and dated betrothal engraving.

Footed salvers were a popular table centrepiece during the    first quarter of the 18th century, however they are now very rare and those    that do survive are generally in poor condition. This Exeter marked example    is near pristine. All the edges remain crisp and the hallmarks are in    fantastic condition (you can still see the original indentations to the    reverse side). The trumpet-shaped foot also bears appropriate matching part    marks.

We have left the tazza in a tarnished state to allow the    buyer to determine how it should look (we would suggest a gentle hand polish    and would be happy to do this on request). There is a slight impression to    the top surface where the foot has been attached.

The maker worked both in Modbury (south Devon) and at    Plymouth Dock (site of a major naval yard).
