This is a rare George I period example of a silver eye bath.
Fashioned from Britannia Standard silver, this eye bath was made by William Fleming and bears a clear example of his new standard maker's mark to the underside of the foot alongside the date letter "B" for 1717, lion's head erased and Britannia marks. The piece takes a simple cup form on a stemmed foot and is in fine condition.
