Francis Higgins Silver Caddy Spoon, 1863
Sold
Caddy Spoon - Union Flowers - London 1863 by Francis Higgins - 9.8cm long; 25g - EB/5031
What a fabulous quality Victorian silver caddy spoon this is!
Unsurprisingly given the quality on show, this lovely-looking caddy spoon was made by Francis Higgins and has wonderful raised floral decoration that pleasingly has leaves overlapping the edge of the handle. The handle is centred by an English rose, whilst the cartouche with engaved initial to the terminal is enveloped with Irish shamrocks, Welsh lilies and a thistle for Scotland. The deep, fluted bowl is one of Higgins' trademark features and retains its original gilding.
This is a fine quality caddy spoon displaying the flowers of the Union and remains in fantastic condition.
