Fish Scent Bottle, 1884 by Mordan

A very rare fish scent bottle by the master of novelty design. The glass fish is superbly cut to represent scales and is engraved with a registration design number - Rd.15711. The fish is shaped in such a way that it not only gives the fish movement, but also curves comfortably in the hand - a most tactile piece. The tail is similarly chased to simulate scales and unscrews to reveal a stoppered opening. The whole pieces exudes quality; the screw thread works perfectly and the interiors are gilt. Excellent condition throughout.
