5 piece Egg Cruet, 1863

This is a very beautiful mid-Victorian silver egg cruet set with 5 egg cups and 5 spoons. The stand is finely engraved and has a bead rim around the top of the twist handle and the edge of the base. The egg cups are similarly decorated and each bears the same crest as that one found on the stand. The spoons have the same bead edging and fit perfectly, but are later in date (London 1912 by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. ltd) with a different crest. The gold interiors to the cups and spoons contrast superbly with the silver colour of the eggery. A fantastic piece of useful Victorian silver in fine original condition.
