A rather unusual form of combination vesta case and sovereign holder. This oblong case has chamfered edges and cut corners. The central hinge springs open to reveal a gilt interior and sprung sovereign holder. The other end flips open for the matches - the top of this cover is recessed for striking purposes. The exterior of the case is script engraved "JA from GFT 27/9/13". Other than a few pocket dings to the obverse the case is in good order.
