Butter Shell - Shell-shape on Winkle feet, Bead Border - London 1790 by William Plummer - 13.4cm x 12.7cm shell shape; 3.3cm max. height; 127g - ES/8596
This Georgian period, scallop-shaped silver butter dish is a particularly fine example of its type. With the elegant bead mount around the handle and three feet in the form of winkle shells, the attention to detail is expertly achieved, combined with the nice solid weight and engraved crest featuring a unicorn it all makes for a very fine piece of late 18th century silver.
The condition of this butter dish is first class throughout.
