Bright-cut Sugar Tongs by Batemans

A fine pair of early 19th century sugar tongs with ornately shaped arms that are decorated with a Greek Key design and flower motifs. These tongs were made by the famous Bateman family of silversmiths and are in excellent condition with clear hallmarks and an 18th century style engraved betrothal triangle to the outside of the bow.
