Caddy Spoon - Balmoral Castle - Edinburgh 1910 by William Robb of Ballater - 8.9cm long; 20g - CN/9765

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

A fabulous William Robb silver caddy spoon with superb detail to the chased bowl. This highly sought after Scottish Provincial caddy spoon oozes quality and is in lovely original condition.

This spoon is the most famous of William Robb's products. It has a superbly detailed embossed view of Balmoral Castle (the Royal family's Scottish retreat) embossed to the heart-shaped bowl. The handle has been expertly designed with the stem modelled as the Scottish thistle surmounted by a lion rampant and the Union Crown. Robb's workshop in Ballater was located just down the road from the castle. In line with the majority of Robb's work, the spoon was hallmarked in Edinburgh and also bears the "ROBB BALLATER" mark within a triangle to the reverse of the stem.
