Dinner Plates (6) - Shaped gadroon & leaf border - London 1750 by William Cripps - 240mm diameter; total weight: 3300g - Ref. No.: VP/2267

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is an outstanding set of six silver dinner plates dating from the George II period. They were each made by one of the finest silversmiths of the period and were evidently made for an important client as can be seen from the engraved crests to the border of each. The crests are surmounted by a ducal coronet. Each plate has a good hefty weight and apart from a few very minor dings and the expected knife marks from use, these plate are in wonderful condition with original patina and bold gadroon borders. The hallmarks are very crisp on every piece.

A very fine set.
