Victorian Comport, 1885
Comport - Round with Engraving & Standing on a Pedestal Foot - London 1885 by Robert Stebbings - 13.2cm high; 14.7cm diameter (top rim); 382g - AN/8896
This is a good-sized, Victorian silver comport that would have all manner of serving purposes - sweets, grapes, nuts etc. This beautiful bowl is attractively chased (embossed) around the outside and has a fluted lower half. It stands on a pedestal foot, which is also chased and raises the dish up from the table or sideboard. The piece has a good hefty weight and has a feeling of high quality. It is in superb condition with no personalised engravings.
