Spoon - Trefid - London 1691 by Lawrence Coles - 18.5cm long; 46g - HY/1899

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a very fine example of a William III and Mary II trefid spoon. Unusually for a spoon of this period, there is nothing of significant that is negative to report - perhaps the crude scratch engraved initials to the front which are not easy to see and not everybody's taste, but otherwise this a fabulous spoon. The bowl is unworn and of particular note are the clear set of hallmarks. The reverse terminal is engraved with an original engraved dedication "RP to RB". An excellent all round spoon.
