Silver Miniatures and Toys

Silver miniatures, often called “toys”, have long reproduced their full-sized counterparts for use in doll's houses or as cabinet curiosities. They show how important it was to still stay within fashion as Georgian silver miniatures faithfully followed the trends of silverware design.

The hey-day of miniature silver production was at the beginning of the 18th century when makers like David Clayton and George Manjoy specialised in their production and pieces by these silversmiths are highly collectable today.
