Coburg Pattern is one of the most prestigious of all flatware patterns and this Georgian silver-gilt dessert service exemplifies the intricate detail at its stunning best.
Comprising eight dessert knives and eight dessert forks this set would be ideal for use with pastries, fruit and other puddings. With the silver blades/tines and Coburg pattern handles retaining their original, lavish gilding and the knife blades also being engraved with a crowned lion crest, this set exhibits fabulous, opulent splendour.
Chawner and Company were one of the most important flatware makers of the period and each piece has a feeling of high quality in the hand and a good deposit of gold must be present as there is no wear to be seen and the overall condition is first rate.
